Quail Hollow Middle School

Quail Hollow Middle School or QHMS is a middle school in south Charlotte, North Carolina, in Mecklenburg County. Teachers are organized into grade-level interdisciplinary teams who share the same students, promoting a family atmosphere to best serve the needs of middle school students. Strong parental involvement is encouraged. The school received the designation of School of Progress/High Growth on the 2001-2002 N.C. ABC's program, and Expected Growth on the Local Accountability Bonus Program. The staff includes several National Board Certified teachers. Students participate in academic and athletic extra curricular activities including Odyssey of the Mind, AVID, Chess Club, Battle of the Books, Science Olympiad, WQHM TV, Honors Orchestra and Honors Band. The school was formerly known as Quail Hollow Junior High before changing to a middle school in 1992.
